Heavy winds from Tropical Storm Isaias which tracked to the western part of the state caused damage in the Attleboro area.
Gregory Kuhn was riding his bike to his parent’s house on Clifton Street when he came upon a large section of a tree that toppled making the street impassable. He is moving some of the smaller limbs to the side of the road. (Mark Stockwell/Sun Chronicle Staff) ... See MoreSee Less

Hats off to our students and teachers in the NAHS AP courses. At a time when teaching and learning was impacted by the unanticipated closure of schools, teachers and students continued their pursuit of excellence despite the circumstances. We had our highest % of students who scored a 3 or higher on AP exams in 5 years! #Remotelearningworks! #GoBigRed! ... See MoreSee Less

We felt that it was important to assure you of our position during the turmoil our country is facing. Through the global health pandemic, an economic down turn and an historic struggle to clearly define and establish racial equality and equal treatment under the law, the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children has maintained and expanded its role, keeping its promise to enrich the lives of children in need.
Our Board, volunteers and you, are helping to continue our work to ensure the support and safety of all children without regard to race, religion, physical or emotional challenges, or family structure.
In addition to our highly successful signature programs, Daycare Scholarships, Backpack Program, Nicky O’ Foundation and of course, Christmas Is For Kids, we continue to participate in a summer food drive that, to date, collected close to 16,000 servings of food for children in 4 towns via 3 food pantries.
We want you to know that we are resilient and very active. We were glad to partner with 22 other local non-profits to create the Attleboro Stronger Together collaboration to raise funds to help support families in crisis. We were in the first round of grants which allowed us to directly help families affected by COVID 19 to pay rent, utilities, and buy food, preventing further homelessness.
In addition, we have been working closely with the Attleboro High Pride Pantry to establish a place where teens can go to get clothes, food and health items, and will step back in to help again once school is in session.
The message we are sending is that our organization is still vibrant, strong and totally dedicated to our goal, that no underprivileged child will go unaided.
We thank you for your continued support. It is your participation that makes this all possible.

Thank you for supporting us as we support those facing challenges in the 15 communities we are proud to serve. Our emergency response efforts have achieved amazing milestones this week!
➡️We have served 108,410 grab and go meals to kids & families in Milford, Bellingham and North Attleboro. This is made possible by the dedicated work of our staff coupled with the generosity of so many in our community that have supported our efforts and believe in what we are doing.
➡️This week, we surpassed 10,000 bags of groceries distributed since March each Wednesday at our three branches. These bags of food – valued at $50 each – help fill a critical need for so many local families, individuals and seniors. We will continue to be there for our neighbors when they need us most. No registration, no questions. Just nourishing food for those who need it.
We are proud of this mission work and couldn't do it without the support of our loyal members, donors, staff, volunteers, partners and the community who are helping us be there when people need us most. hockymca.org/food-access
