If this is upgraded from a watch and people need to seek shelter with a dog, where can they go?

Council for Children

Dear Supporter,

We felt that it was important to assure you of our position during the turmoil our country is facing. Through the global health pandemic, an economic down turn and an historic struggle to clearly define and establish racial equality and equal treatment under the law, the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children has maintained and expanded its role, keeping its promise to enrich the lives of children in need.

Our Board, volunteers and you, are helping to continue our work to ensure the support and safety of all children without regard to race, religion, physical or emotional challenges, or family structure.

In addition to our highly successful signature programs, Daycare Scholarships, Backpack Program, Nicky O’ Foundation and of course, Christmas Is For Kids, we continue to participate in a summer food drive that, to date, collected close to 16,000 servings of food for children in 4 towns via 3 food pantries.

We want you to know that we are resilient and very active. We were glad to partner with 22 other local non-profits to create the Attleboro Stronger Together collaboration to raise funds to help support families in crisis. We were in the first round of grants which allowed us to directly help families affected by COVID 19 to pay rent, utilities, and buy food, preventing further homelessness.

In addition, we have been working closely with the Attleboro High Pride Pantry to establish a place where teens can go to get clothes, food and health items, and will step back in to help again once school is in session.

The message we are sending is that our organization is still vibrant, strong and totally dedicated to our goal, that no underprivileged child will go unaided.

We thank you for your continued support. It is your participation that makes this all possible.

Sincerely,

The Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children Board of Directors
